Community Engagement Award
On 9 August, Michelle Connelly and Melissa Driscoll from our stakeholder engagement team glammed for a night of celebration at the 2019 CCAA Innovation Awards at the W Hotel in Brisbane. Our client, Hanson Glasshouse Quarry, was amongst the winners on the night, taking out the Community Engagement Award for exceptional contribution in connecting and collaborating with the community and enhancing the public perception and standing of the heavy construction materials industry. We are proud to have worked alongside Hanson on engaging the local community to raise awareness about an industry that cares about its social licence.
As part of our stakeholder engagement program, Hanson Glasshouse became the first Hanson site in Australia to have its own Facebook page. We also facilitated multiple school visits and a large community open day in November 2019 with guided quarry tours and community partner displays. A subsequent site visit was specially designed for autistic children so they could experience the quarry environment with appropriate sensory levels.
